Our New Junior School Day
As we look ahead to our Junior School being based on one site at Ravelston, we can now share an overview of what a typical day will look like. Bringing the whole Junior School together provides a valuable opportunity to improve the flow of the day, creating a rhythm that feels purposeful, balanced, and consistent for our students.
The timetable below gives an example of a typical day in our Junior School. You can also click here to view it in full.

What is staying the same
Families will be reassured to know that the start and end of the school day remain largely unchanged. Our aim has been to maintain the structure that works well for parents while refining the internal flow of the day for students.
What is changing
While the overall shape of the day remains familiar, there are some adjustments to:
- Lesson timings
- Morning snack
- Lunch timings
These changes allow us to create a smoother pace across the day, with well-balanced teaching blocks and appropriate time for rest and social interaction.
A consistent finish for Primary 5–7
With Games now taking place at Ravelston, all Primary 5–7 students will finish their school day at 3.30pm. This replaces previous arrangements where pick-up locations varied, including Inverleith. A single-site model simplifies the end of the day for families and ensures greater consistency for students.
Clubs and Activities
Our extra-curricular programme remains a vital and vibrant part of Junior School life, and new for 2026/2027 is the introduction of clubs to our Primary 3 children. Further information will follow on what opportunities the children will have to choose from.
Bringing the Junior School together on one campus strengthens our ability to offer a wide range of high-quality activities in a coordinated and convenient way.
